3 Options We offer to Solve Leaking Ponds & Water Features
Option #1
You locate and fix the leak. We will provide you with the CLDP (Complete Leak Detection Process) document detailing the procedure of you finding your leak(s), written out in layman's terms. If you need to go deeper in our step-by-step process, some tools of the trade may be required to continue, but they can be purchased at any home improvement store. Patching the Liner is simple! Finding the problem can be a very difficult process. This option and the advice we provide is completely FREE.
What You Need to Know During the Process:
Please be patient. Our step-by-step process takes time and delays may occur.
Hands off! Our process requires the water feature to be untouched for you to locate the leak(s). Any rocks that are moved or water that is added will void the process and we will have to start over.
An aerator. If you decide to take this on by yourself in the summer, it is a good idea to add an aerator when your pump is turned off. This will give your fish the oxygen they need to survive.

Option #2
We search for a leak and provide solutions. You invite us to your location to do a Visual Inspection for $350 or Exploratory Clean-Out starting at $995. With a Visual Inspection, we will professionally inspect the water feature for leaks. With an Exploratory Clean-Out, we will drain and clean the water feature as well as professionally inspect the water feature for leaks.
We may be able to locate and fix the problem on this visit, but it is unlikely, we make no guarantees. However, at the end of the visit, we will be able to provide you with a solution to fix the problem.
Under our guidance, it may benefit you to start a few important steps of the leak detection process before we come out. We will schedule our visit once we have obtained some helpful information from the initial test. This may take at least 48 hours depending on weather and results. Please note that a Visual Inspection must be prepaid.

We had a great experience with Pondscapes [of Charlotte]! The they were easy to work with and efficient! Our pond looks so much better, they helped us fix an on-going issue, and showed how to prevent it in the future. We will definitely be using them again!" - Kiara Vollick (Google Review)
Option #3
The last option is a Liner Replacement or a Rebuild. This will likely be the most expensive option, but it will also be a guaranteed fix of the area we replace.
A Liner Replacement may cover your entire feature or just a section of it, such as a stream. We will remove the rocks from the area, put the new liner down and place the rocks back, resulting in a feature that looks very similar to how it was before.
The Rebuild involves tearing out your previous water feature and replacing it with a completely new feature. The design may be similar to your previous feature, or it can have an entirely new design with different dimensions, style, or anything else you may want to change.

"Pondscapes of Charlotte provided an excellent solution for a number of issues with the koi pond in my courtyard. Initially, I was looking only for a fix for a leak, but I ended up getting a rebuilt pond, much more attractive, better constructed, and providing additional water space that makes my koi happy. And for a very good price. They added some features, moved and improved the waterfall, stabilized the rocks, and provided wonderful evening lighting. Very pleased." - Sue Knight (Google Review)
WATERFALL/STREAM Leaks Are Most Common
Having a leak in the waterfall or area of your stream/waterfalls is one of the most common leak spots for any water feature. Newly built waterfalls will settle over time, thus in some cases lowering liner edges allowing water to exit your pond at the waterfall. Depending on how your stream or waterfalls are built will depend on the cost to disassemble and rebuild them. In some cases, holes in your liner can be repaired quickly and relatively easily. But be aware — finding holes can be like looking for a needle in a haystack! Rocks, boulders, and gravel need to be moved or removed, cleaned, inspected, and returned back to their original spots. Sometimes it’s just plain expensive to inspect your pond leak inch by inch. Be prepared to consider having it rebuilt from the start of our meeting.
